A man in Pennsylvania who says his barrel bungs are leaking is taking his case to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
A plastic barrel bung that he claims leaks plastic from the bottom of the bung is in the family’s home, and he wants the agency to investigate.
But the plastic barrel that he has installed is not the type that leaks.
The man says the bungs have a built-in plastic seal that he doesn’t want to leak.
He said his mother and stepfather are both licensed to operate the bung.
The agency has not received a single complaint about the bung’s leak.
The Associated Press reported that plastic barrels are becoming a problem in the industry.
A plastic barrel has become the most popular type of plastic barrel, with a typical bung costing between $3,000 and $5,000, according to a report from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
